Invest time to look after your makeup brushes
Whether you are a professional makeup artist or simply a makeup wearer, we all know that makeup brushes can be expensive and we’re not just talking about the luxury colour cosmetic brand own label brushes. Even our favourite brands that we can pick up in Boots and Amazon can often have a high price tag.
Whilst we are, of course, always advising all makeup wearers of the importance of good makeup brush and makeup sponge hygiene to avoid cross-contamination and potential nasty infections, don’t please overlook the benefit of looking after your makeup brushes and favourite beauty tools from an investment point of view.
Trust us when we say they will love you for it and will last so much longer when you take proper care of those lovely brushes.
Help extend the life of your makeup brushes
Not only will they still be around in years to come but by cleaning, sanitising, and conditioning your brushes, you will achieve a much better makeup application, avoid the inevitable product and colour transferrence as well as reducing the risk of nasty breakouts and other annoying infections from conjunctivitis to impetigo.
Oh, and just a reminder, please never share your makeup unless you’ve sanitised it. Lip gloss and lipsticks are one of the most common makeup products where germs lurk and are the most easily transferred along with makeup brushes and sponges.
It’s easy to forget how paranoid we all were at the outbreak and during covid (quite rightly) about hand hygiene and sharing anything, so whilst thank goodness, we have moved on, the same dangers luck beneath the shimmer and shine of makeup.
So, remember, give your brushes regular TLC to keep them clean but also in tip top shape.
Take care of your makeup brushes - they are in investment
Independent research confirms makeup brushes and makeup sponges are a prime breeding ground for a wide variety of bacteria
SAFE BEAUTY TOP TIPS
Never leave your makeup brushes to soak in water. It destroys the glue within the furrule, strips the vanish or finish on the handle and affects natural hair brush folicules. After washing with our deep clean sanitising wash, rinse in clean warm water, squeese excess water out before reshaping and always, always dry makeup brushes with the brush head lower than the handle so the water runs away from the bristles and the furrule. Oh, and never dry with a hair dryer, on the raditor or in the washer dryer (yes, people do!)
The Pro Hygiene Collection makeup brush cleaners deep clean and sanitise makeup brushes and sponges helping to reduce breakouts and minimise cross-contamination
